7th & 8th House Marriage & Mergence

The 7th and 8th houses go together like cheese and wine in natal chart romance. The descendant line of the 7th house shows the most suited partner in navigating the 3D world with long-term. We better know this arrangement as marriage, in human terms. Most often we like to put a fantasy based, romantic spin on marriage, often forgetting it’s practical arrangement roots. Marriage was not created in the 3D world to be a compatibility of  romance. It was a financial, and complimentary arrangement, often paired with individuals who could get along well together. Partners who had complimenting looks, and could be happy together creating a life. At least that was the hope, because the most important thing was the benefits for the merging of families. When we look to the 7th house now, I like to think of the marriage partner with a combination of old beliefs and modern romance. The 7th house shows the energy of the partner who you will pair well with in a practical and endearing sense. It is the partner who you can create long term relationships and arrangements with. Often these people will also make lovely business partners in your life as well. Because they are your DESCENDANT (I will get deeply into this in a separate post.) The 7th house sign reveals marital union, based on comforting and understanding energies. This is your lifelong soulmate who will instill a sense of love and friendship within you, as they see you in ways no one else ever has. Beyond your faults and flaws, the 7th house is the house of commitment. This partner brings practical strategies and the will to embark on adventures that others don’t offer you the compatibility for. Their spirit is a guiding light that protects you and allows you the safety to be yourself, as you move about the world. There is fairness and compassion here, as you take on life’s challenges. The love story of the 7th house is based on stability, commitment, and partnership through the good and bad.

The 8th house partner is a union of sexual mergence. The sign that the 8th house resides in is not here to make you comfortable, but rather take you through the depths of your inner self to cosmic transformation. Where there is sultry, raw sexual union, there is  transcendental death. This mergence is the alchemy that takes physical bodily connection, to the heights of spiritual realms. You explore the inner and outer realms together through the primal instinct of your desire. This soulmate can be frightening at first, because it’s like being exposed under the Sun’s intense rays, revealing all your cracks and vulnerable thoughts. These triggers are what will lead one another to spiritual liberation, if approached with caution. Many times these relationships are not entered into with respect. Especially when partners become dependent on the sensational fix they get from sex, disregarding the tender work their relationship asks of them. It is an invitation to step into Plutonian power and rise up, if they are both willing to bare their secrets and tackle shadows with one another. Only then can the 8th house union be revealed for what it truly is: A deep dive into pleasure and pain to raise the frequency for existential bliss.
